A system of wetlands with islets that appear and disappear depending on the state of the tides. Lands that resemble illusions, where the fiuri de tapo, the sea lavender blooms, and which has stimulated the imagination of poets and artists. On the islets we find the casoni, old dwellings built by fishermen, originally using only natural materials coming from the lagoon itself, and that today, in some cases, have become splendid restaurants. It was here that Pasolini chose to shoot his film Medea, while the poet Biagio Marin dedicated his verses to these lands and Claudio Magris his suggestioni.
