After completing his elementary education in Piran, twelve-year-old Giuseppe attended the Collegio dei Nobili in Koper, where he obtained a broad knowledge of the humanities, as well as some knowledge of mathematics and physics which were subsequently useful to him in his musical and scientific writings. . The building is still used today for educational and training activities. In fact the space is used for the Gian Rinaldo Carli Koper General High School and the Pier Paolo Vergerio il Vecchio Elementary School. During the years he spent in Koper, Tartini learning to fence and, despite his parents’ unhappiness, even to play the violin when he was still young.
