17 - Mediadom Pyrhani

Mediadom Pyrhani is a cultural centre and a multimedia museum that accompanies you, like a time machine, on a journey through twenty centuries of history, from antiquity to today's Piran. With 3D films and interactive animations, it presents the history and cultural evolution of this compact town devoted to fishing, surrounded by massive walls and bordered by salt pans.

The itinerary allows visitors to get to know the most illustrious characters of the city, to discover its archaeological remains, the “infamous column”, as well as the traditional events and cultural events taking place in the city. In truth, Mediadom is already an archaeological site in itself. During the renovation of the spaces, the remains of the ancient church of San Filippo, built in 1374 and demolished in the 19th century, were found, as well as an underground corridor, probably used as a crypt.
