The Civic Museum of Musical Instruments, houses more than 800 pieces from the 16th century through to the second half of the 20th century. In terms of importance and number of finds it is one of the most significant in Europe and the second in Italy, after that of Rome. Some instruments have been restored and used for conferences and concerts, thus allowing us to appreciate the ‘voice’ of the instruments and their technical evolution.
The museum, located within the Sforzesco castle, is custodian of a canvas with an anonymous portrait of Tartini as a young man.
