We have no definite information about the times Giuseppe Tartini spent in Trieste. In various letters however, Tartini refers to Trieste, even addressing some of them to his nephew Pietro who lived there.
The Liceo Musicale “Giuseppe Tartini”, dedicated to the composer of Piran, began its activity in October 1903. Also active in Trieste at the same time was the Trieste Music Institute, called the “Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi”. In 1932 these two bodies merged, bringing to life to the initial nucleus of the current “Giuseppe Tartini” Conservatory. In 1992, the 300th anniversary of the birth of Giuseppe Tartini, the Conservatory celebrated the anniversary with the dedication of its new hall to the Istrian composer. Through the present Interreg Project, a museum room will be set up to place the Tartini exhibits owned by the Conservatory on display.
