One of Tartini’s favourite and most loyal pupils was the young German Johann Gottlieb Naumann, who made history as a famous composer. Tartini was Naumann’s teacher, and a profound bond of friendship tied the two musicians throughout their lives. A proof of this was a letter from Tartini from which one can see all this affection. Naumann later retold in a letter how he had heard Tartini play with incredible perfection for a man of almost eighty.
