Tartini obtained the coveted position of “first violin and concert leader” in the Basilica di Sant'Antonio orchestra, enjoying the “freedom of being able to allow himself to play in theatres, or other music without any prejudice” . An old acquaintance also arrived in the Orchestra del Santo, the Bohemian Father Bohuslav Černohorský, his teacher over the years in Assisi, and shortly afterwards a new first cello, Antonio Vandini, was taken on and became a friend for life of Tartini. His first violin qualification involved conducting, the responsibility of the instrumentalists and the production of concerts to be performed during the liturgy.
