After hearing Francesco Maria Veracini play in Venice, Tartini felt the need to retire to central Italy to further perfect his technique. Subsequently he had some small bows modified in line with his executive requirements and thus longer than normal. Here, he went to play at the Teatro della Fenice to maintain himself.
