The letter, which is listed also in the Succi catalogue of 1862 though lacking a date and description, should correspond to the present letter, which was therefore given by Gaspari to Succi before the three letters cited in the correspondence of 1870. See the Gaspari- Succi correspondence in I-Bc. The letter is on sale in the Gonnelli catalogue, 31 January 2017 (#954, € 900), with a partial reproduction. From the Gonnelli catalogue: “Manuscript in black ink on watermarked paper. 1 bifolio, 2 pages written. On the verso of the second sheet the name of the recipient. Certain losses of paper without loss of text owing to the wax sealing. Dimensions: 225x162 mm. Long and curious letter in which the famous composer writes to his most esteemed Franciscan colleague. The correspondence between Tartini and Padre Martini started at the end of the 1720s and continued throughout his life. On 25 March 1741 Tartini also wrote to Padre Martini anoth- er (1 page) with similar content.
